Online surveys > Methodology
The methodology of the survey research will be based on the Euracademy Observatory’s model (www.euracademy-observatory.org), including three types of online questionnaire-based surveys, and a limited number of case-studies.

The surveys will address three target groups: e-learning providers (the supply side of the e-learning market), e-learning recipients (current learners) and e-learning potential recipients (control group). These last two categories constitute the demand side of the e-learning market.

The questionnaires used to conduct the surveys are based on the initial Observatory’s prototype, streamlined to make them shorter, friendlier and more efficient. The surveys will be conducted mostly online, although some interviews at the piloting phase of the research will be conducted face-to-face or by telephone, to obtain comments and qualitative information, leading to improvements of the questionnaire. The online questionnaires are attached in this website (see horizontal menu), translated in 12 languages, to reach the widest possible audience.
On the basis of past experience, the network partners will decide on the sample size for each survey at national level, making also sure that a sufficient number of case studies is conducted with providers who apply innovative solutions to e-learning content and delivery. A range of 3 to 10 case studies are expected to materialise in each country. On this basis, a library of best practice examples will be created.
